Creative Ways For Teachers To Inspire Their Students
As a teacher, you look for anything that could possibly inspire your students to work hard and know that they can succeed. Sometimes, getting through to some kids is challenging and will require a little more work on your part. Here, you'll find a few ideas that can help inspire your students to work hard to reach success.
Wear your Words
Since all eyes are on you most of the day, why not wear your words on your shirt? Do some shopping to find t-shirts with inspirational quotes on them. There are so many inspirational t-shirt designs with quotes and sayings on them that will fit into any situation. Just wearing a cute shirt that states that the kids can do anything, will be OK in the end and that they do have someone on their side, could be the thing that helps at least one student find the inner peace that they need to ask for help or work a little harder to reach their goal.
Note: These shirts can also be given out as rewards or just to give a student that is feeling down to be lifted back up. Sometimes, it just takes a small token to draw a troubled kid out of the darkness and back on the road to success. Every time the student looks at that shirt, it's a reminder that you care enough to gift it to them—that means more than you might know to a lot of kids.
Have the Students Assist
No matter what age level, kids love to feel needed, helpful and as if someone believes in them. If you include your students in the work that you do as a teacher, you could inspire some students to find a love for teaching like you have—it could help to capture the interest in a subject that would have otherwise been boring for them and they may even teach you something in the process.
Tip: For younger students, look into a costume or prop to use on the days that they are the assistant. Use the assistant position as a reward for good behavior and reaching goals that are set.
Teaching can be hard but also one of the most rewarding jobs in the world. Get creative and find new ways to keep the students interested in what you're teaching and showing them that they can do anything as long as they put their minds to it!
