The Three Layers You Need To Where When You Go Hunting

When you go hunting, you are going to spend hours out in the woods, scouting for the animals. Hunting is an activity where you need clothing that will work all day long while you are out in the woods.

#1 Start with a Base Layer

First, you need to start with a base layer. The base layer is the layer that goes rests against your body. You want this layer to help remove moisture from your skin. Polyester is a common base layer material. Polyester helps remove moisture from your body and is lightweight. Another common material is merino wool. Merino wool is particularly popular in hunting circles because not only is it comfortable and capable of wicking away moisture, but it also helps mask body odors, which is essential when hunting and you don't want animals to detect your scent.

#2 Move on to the Middle Layer

Next, you need a middle layer. The middle layer is a layer you want to use to help keep you warm. This layer should help trap heat up against your body. You want this layer to be flexible and move with you as you move.

Popular mid-layer materials, as well as base layer materials, include both merino wool and polyester. Additionally, nylon is a popular material. Once again, dry-fit leggings and jackets can be great for your middle layer as well. When it is hot outside, you may want to take off your outer layer and just have your middle layer on.

#3 Finish with the Outermost Layer

Finally, you want to finish with the outermost layer. When hunting, your outermost layer is perhaps your most important layer. The outermost layer is made to protect you against the weather. When you are out hunting, you are likely to encounter all types of weather. You want the outermost layer to protect you from rain and snow and keep you warm even when the winds are blowing. As you will be walking through the forest, you want to make sure that your outer layer also protects you from things you may bump against, like branches and bushes.

Your outer layer will ideally be waterproof and have a warm lining. Your outermost layer should also be easy to fold up and put in your sack when it is too hot outside for it.

When you go hunting, you want a base layer that will keep you dry, a middle layer that will keep you warm, and an outermost layer that will protect you from the elements. Also, consider using fabrics that will help mask your scent as you hunt.
